Meet Laura Baker

Laura Baker, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC is a dually licensed Psychiatric and Family nurse practitioner. She graduated from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1996 and a Master of Science in Nursing in 2001. She has worked in a variety of settings including primary care and substance use treatment. Laura has extensive experience managing a variety of psychiatric illnesses as well as substance use disorders. She is certified to prescribe buprenorphine and well versed in medication-assisted treatment for various substance use disorders. 

In 2020, Laura saw the critical need for psychiatric and substance use providers in our community. She decided to be part of the solution and returned to school at the University of Rochester to complete an Advanced Masters Certificate in Psychiatry. She has a special interest in the management of substance use disorders as well as adolescents with depression and anxiety.

Laura is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in both Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Health. This well-rounded background enables Laura to look at patients from a more comprehensive perspective. She believes fiercely in patient-centered care and treating patients with the respect and dignity that they deserve.

Laura has recently published her first book, Life After Survival: A Story From Both Sides of the Bed.

Meet Syed Mahmud

Syed Mahmud, PMHNP-BC, is a licensed Psychiatric nurse practitioner. Syed began his career in Bangladesh, earning a Doctor of Medicine in Psychiatry degree. He has worked as a Medical officer in psychiatric clinics in Bangladesh from 2006-2011 and from 2013-2015 worked as a psychiatrist in a medical college and hospital. Syed has extensive experience managing a variety of psychiatric illnesses including eating disorder and geriatric psychiatry.  

Upon moving to the States, Syed entered the accelerated program for RN @ the University of Rochester. He went on to earn his Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner degree and joined the telepsychiatry at the University of Rochester in 2023 while also working at the Healing Connection outpatient clinic which is for patients with eating disorders. He has a special interest in the management of eating disorders as well as adult with depression and anxiety.

Syed is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in Psychiatric Mental Health. “I have worked in the rural area of a developing country and now I have serving at the best psychiatric centers of NYS.” With his well-rounded background, Syed approaches patients from a comprehensive perspective. He is a strong advocate for patient-centered care and is committed to treating patients with the respect and dignity they deserve. Syed is available for appointments on Saturday.

Meet Deborah Spencer

Deborah is a compassionate, seasoned psychiatric nurse practitioner, board certified with over 30 years of experience in mental health care specializing in the holistic treatment of adults affected by childhood trauma and domestic violence. She has extensive expertise in the treatment of people afflicted with serious mental health issues, chemical dependency and addiction. She takes a person-centered approach to the practices of psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. She pays special attention to principles of the Rogerian approach, fostering a humanistic interpersonal approach with unconditional positive regard, mutual respect & compassion. She is a strong advocate to her patients while fostering trusting relationships with both patients and their loved ones.  She is available for appointments Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Meet Tricia Berger

Tricia is a licensed mental heath counselor who graduated from the University of Rochester. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor she has worked with children, adolescents and adult struggling with a variety of mental health concerns for over a decade.  She has knowledge and training in a multitude of therapist and will integrate strategies to best fit your needs.  Her primary, evidence based, therapeutic approaches are Client-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral and Motivational Interviewing.  Her primary focus will be on developing a positive therapeutic relationship was well as to create a space where you feel safe to communicate openly.  Her goal is to help each individual gain insight and understanding of their thoughts and feelings develop coping strategies that will allow you to reach life goals and objectives. She is available to see patients Monday through Thursday as well as Saturday. She is only available via zoom.

Meet Barb McCabe

Barb McCabe is a LCSW-R. She graduated from SUNY Brockport with a BSW and SUNY Albany with a MSW. She worked in the foster care Group Home and recovering focused Life House programs at St Joseph’s Villa with adolescent males and their families early in her career. She then worked for 30 years at Hillside in Rochester, NY as a social worker in a variety of programs as a social worker/clinician including foster care. And managing an OMH residential program. In recent years she worked as an outpatient and in home mental health therapist and clinical supervisor. She is trained in TF-CBT and DBT. She uses a person centered and family oriented approach to help people understand and manage their mental health, relationships, to identify and resolve life stressors and challenges and to achieve their personal and family goals. She is available Tuesday through Thursday.

Meet Ekenechi “Kenes” Ezeanolue

With over six years of comprehensive experience in inpatient, forensic and community based psychiatric settings, Kenes is an ANCC board certified Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Her professional focus centers on supporting individuals living with persistent mental illness, substance use disorders, and trauma-related challenges.

After earning her BSN from St. John Fisher University in 2019, Kenes became a board certified Psychiatric Registered Nurse in 2020. She further advanced her clinical training by completing her MSN as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at the University of Rochester in 2024. Kenes is deeply committed to fostering mental health treatment environments that emphasize inclusion, cultural awareness, and intersectionality along with medication management.

Meet Katie Blakely

Katie Blakely, LMSW is pleased to join Henrietta Psychiatric NP Care PLLC as a therapist. She has been a social worker for over a decade in various settings and levels of care, including a community foundation, a domestic violence medical-legal clinic, community mental health clinics, and a partial hospitalization program.  She received her MSW from the University at Buffalo and her practice is greatly influenced by their Trauma-Informed Human Rights Perspective. She attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA for undergraduate (Lets Go Pens!) and received both a BFA in Trombone Performance and a BS in Psychology with a Concentration in Cognitive Neuroscience.

Katie integrates cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic approaches. She is trained in cognitive processing therapy for the treatment of PTSD, and received an Advanced Certificate in Addictions Counseling from the University of Rochester. Katie enjoys working those who might describe themselves as “complex,” “overwhelming,” “messy,” or “challenging,” and has strong risk assessment and safety planning abilities to help people learn to regulate and address lethality behaviors more effectively. Katie particularly enjoys working with those who have been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, and those navigating psychosis including first-episode psychosis. Additionally, Katie will always prioritize finding a spot on her schedule for health care workers and human service workers. 

While she processes her LCSW paperwork and studies for her exam for independent licensure, Katie is grateful to Barb McCabe LCSW-R for sharing her wealth of knowledge and providing clinical supervision.

Meet Tracey Reed

Tracey obtained her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Buffalo State College in 1999, earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University At Buffalo in 2000, then acquired her license as a clinical social worker and later obtained her R certification. She has 25 years of clinical experience providing psychotherapy in both community and private settings.

Tracey started her career treating children and adolescents, many including therapeutic foster care. She then turned her attention to working with high risk adults with persistent mental illness in a hospital setting and assisted with facilitation of life skills groups. During this time, Tracey also began a private practice in Buffalo, N.Y. and later, Rochester, N.Y. where she provided psychotherapy treatment to children, adolescents and adults.

Tracey’s clinical experience focuses on comprehensive assessment and development of individualized goals that foster hope, new insights, build coping skills and growth. She guides in navigating the challenges associated with anxiety and depressive disorders, Bipolar Spectrum Disorder, relationship difficulties, grief/loss and situational life stressors. She is an ally to the LGBTQI+ community. Tracey believes that making lasting, meaningful change begins with building a therapeutic relationship in a space that is empathic, trusting, non judgmental and inclusive.

Tracey’s approach is warm and collaborative. She provides client centered care that is strength based and trauma informed. She draws from a variety of research based methods including Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioral, Rational Emotive, Person Centered, Interpersonal and Psychodynamic.

Tracey sees adults ages 18 and up. She is available Monday through Thursday for in person or video appointments.

Meet Josephine Meh

Josephine Meh, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Husson University in Maine in 2024 and is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Her professional background includes experience in psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and ongoing mental health care within structured clinical environments. She is skilled in conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing continuity of care over time.

She practices using an evidence-based, patient-centered approach and emphasizes collaboration, clear communication, and ethical practice. She is committed to fostering a respectful, supportive clinical environment and to delivering thoughtful, clinically sound psychiatric care tailored to each individual’s needs.

Meet Nitza Rodriguez

Nitza is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a heart for helping people heal, reconnect, and move forward in their journey. Nitza has a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Rochester, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Nazareth College here in Rochester, New York.

Nitza’s work centers on supporting individuals, couples, and families as they navigate the challenges life has placed in their path. Nitza practices from a trauma-informed framework and a marriage and family therapy lens, bringing attention to both personal experiences and the relational patterns that shape them. Nitza has a specialty in working with couples facing infidelity, stress, and communication difficulties, and with families who may need to strengthen connections, rebuild trust, and restore a sense of stability within their relationships.

Nitza’s approach is warm, grounded, and deeply relational, believing that healing happens when people feel safe, seen, and supported.
